The National Bed Federation (NBF) announces award-winning broadcaster Clare Balding as the host of its awards ceremony at the Bed Show in Telford on 22 September.
Winner of the BAFTA Special Award and RTS Presenter of the Year Award for her expert coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Clare Balding is one of Britain’s leading broadcasters.
Beginning her career as an amateur flat jockey, Clare transitioned from competing to presenting, making her television debut at Royal Ascot, and has since covered some of the biggest events in sport and national life across the BBC and Channel 4.
Clare’s work covers everything from Wimbledon to rugby league, women’s football to Crufts. Branching into writing, Clare has written regular columns for The Observer and Sunday Telegraph and authored several award-winning novels for adults and children.
Executive director of the NBF, Tristine Hargreaves, commented: “We are delighted to have one of the very best presenters in the country to host our Gala Dinner & Awards night. Clare is the consummate professional and an accomplished live host who speaks with a wonderfully dry wit.
“We look forward to welcoming Clare, along with around 500 guests, on the first evening of the Bed Show.”
Tickets for the gala dinner will be available for purchase soon via the Bed Show website.
