Dreams

For the judges, Dreams was a “clear winner” with its “very strong entry across the board”. Dreams delivered strong commercial growth across the board, while investing in customers, colleagues, innovation and sustainability. Expanded its retail footprint, deepened partnerships with NBF members and earned recognition for trust, value and service. Retained its Excellent 4.8 Trustpilot rating, introduced 24-hour delivery on selected products and became Official Sleep Partner of Team GB for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.

Bensons for Beds

Bensons for Beds delivered its strongest commercial performance since 2019, achieving 13 consecutive quarters of growth while investing in major areas of the business. Highlights include significant sales growth across key product launches, a 97% On-Time In-Full delivery rate, the hugely successful Sleep Forecast campaign reaching 81.7m, and record charity fundraising. Bensons also recycled over 2 million kg of mattress materials and cut transport emissions by around 199 tonnes of CO₂.

DFS

Despite challenging market conditions, DFS delivered growth across its beds and mattresses categories, with store sales of beds and mattresses showing healthy improvement. NBF-approved member products accounted for 52% of category revenue, with the majority of mattress sales coming from NBF-approved members. Increased routes for customer feedback and targeted marketing generated 1.1m views and over 170 pieces of PR coverage.

Online Bed Retailer of the Year

Winner

MattressOnline

This year, the Online Retailer of the Year category was “exceptionally close”, according to the judges. MattressOnline clinched the title after another year of growth and development, while retaining the agile and collaborative approach at the heart of its operation.

It saw healthy year-on-year increases in orders, units sold and revenue. It launched 68 new products, 73% made by NBF-approved members, while maintaining a 4.8 Trustpilot rating. Sustainability remains central, with more than 164,000 mattresses saved from landfill since 2015. Its community impact was another highlight, delivering almost 1,800 items to over 400 South Yorkshire families through its support for Baby Basics and tackling bed poverty.

Land of Beds

A strong year of growth saw website traffic rise 65%, average order value increase 30% and conversion improve by more than 40%. More than £500,000 in revenue came from AI-platform traffic, highlighting the reach of Land of Beds’ expert advice. With 85% of stocked brands NBF members, a 96% customer satisfaction score and almost 10,000 Trustpilot reviews, the fourth-generation family business continues to combine technology with trusted, expert service.

MattressNextDay

A defining year of sustainable, customer-focused growth, with website sessions up 59%. MattressNextDay reached its 100,000th recycled mattress, achieving its 2027 sustainability target early, while 41% of customers opted for recycling. With 69% of online listings from NBF-approved members, national TV advertising championing the NBF and a 4.7 Trustpilot rating from 34,000+ reviews, MattressNextDay continues to combine commercial success with industry leadership and positive customer impact.

 

Small NBF Retail Champion of the Year

Winner

Dreamland

Two-time winner Dreamland enjoyed its strongest performance to date in its 50th year. A true NBF champion, Dreamland champions ethical trading, consumer education, sustainability and British manufacturing, alongside exceptional customer service, 100% five-star reviews and a comprehensive community impact strategy.

Judges said: “It is clear that the business is very committed to the development of its colleagues and supporting its community with some very interesting and innovative initiatives.”

Linthorpe Beds – highly commended

A proud NBF Retail Champion, built on relationships and honesty. Warehousing scaled by 225%, while its accredited bed recycling service grew to 27%. Multi-channel marketing, including local radio and social media, delivered a 53.8% increase in Linthorpe’s website sessions. Judges particularly liked the the dementia-friendly training.

Carters Bed City

Carters Bed City had an impressive 5.0/5.0 Trustpilot rating, ranking among the country’s top mattress and bed shops. It achieved double-digit growth in turnover and profit, alongside a 95%+ conversion rate and exceptional staff loyalty, with incredibly low staff turnover.

Now to Bed

Now to Bed invested in its future with a new, modern showroom, while delivering exceptional customer service, championing British manufacturing and supporting its community. The Welsh retailer achieved measurable growth and partnered with a local farm to produce wool for its exclusive Enchanted House collection.

Medium NBF Retail Champion of the Year

Winner

Prestige Beds

The judges acknowledged Prestige Beds’ “clear business strategy that is working.” It enjoyed strong commercial performance with increased profitability while delivering strategic investment and continued community impact. Its refurbished Preston store achieved a fantastic 23% turnover growth. The Lancashire retailer ensures NBF values are promoted throughout the business, including staff uniforms, while other highlights include a rebuilt website and free mattress recycling with every order.

Collingwood Batchellor

Collingwood Batchellor enjoyed strong sales growth and an increased offering of NBF-approved manufacturers during the qualifying period. Excellent promotion of its Retail Champion status and the NBF throughout its stores and on its website, alongside fantastic customer service and regular, relevant staff training.

The M6 Bed Warehouse

The M6 Bed Warehouse opened its third showroom during the qualifying period. Customers are reminded of the importance of buying from NBF-approved members across all its stores, while a new Employee Mentorship Programme supports continuous learning. Community support remains central, with significant donations helping local schools, making a real impact on local lives.

World of Beds

World of Beds enjoyed its strongest year since the pandemic, with impressive turnover and conversion growth. It opened its sixth store, generating £70,000 turnover in six months, and appointed its first in-house marketing team. All showrooms feature NBF branding and the Bed Buyers’ Guide.

Judges were Jessica Alexander (Furniture Makers’ Company), Jarrod Bird (Interiors Monthly), Richard McMurrough (Propaganda), Dan Squires (Big Furniture Group) and James Winfield (Propaganda).
